AGENCY OVERVIEW

Description:  Volunteers of America of Indiana is a non-profit, human service organization established in Indiana in 1896. The agency is one of the first ten members of the United Way of Central Indiana (then known as the Community Chest).

Programs focus on veterans, the mentally disabled, homeless services, elder services, community enhancement and programs for youth and children. The agency’s largest program supports men and women transitioning from the criminal justice system. The program provides counseling, case management, employment and life skills designed to help these men and women become productive members of the community.
