What is the AmeriCorps VISTA program?

As an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) member, you will agree to join our staff for one year to build the capacity of Volunteers of America of Indiana’s addiction treatment programs (such as the Fresh Start Recovery Center) as part of our efforts to combat the opioid epidemic. For compensation for this job you will receive a monthly stipend (dispersed bi-weekly), healthcare benefits, assistance with school loans, and gain valuable experience in nonprofit management. Volunteers of America of Indiana seeks candidates who are passionate about providing innovative treatment and healthy futures for families and individuals affected by the opioid epidemic. Participants of the AmeriCorps VISTA program should be self-starters who are excited about gaining valuable experience in nonprofit management and helping vulnerable populations in Indiana.

    Program Support Specialist VISTA

    This position will be responsible for tracking program performance, evaluation of performance numbers and provide performance management support for Volunteers of America of Indiana’s residential addiction treatment centers. The incumbent will work primarily with program staff of the treatment centers.
