Breakfast fundraiser for the Fresh Start Recovery Center
If you follow local news, then you've heard about the opioid addiction epidemic that has been rampaging the Midwest. Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a mother affected by the opioid epidemic? Do you wish you could do something to help those affected, but don't know where to start? Do you enjoy fantastic coffee? If your answer to any of these is yes, then please come to our breakfast fundraiser at the beautiful Whitsett home in downtown Indianapolis.
Proceeds from this event will fund the expansion of Volunteers of America of Indiana's addictions treatment program for mothers, the Fresh Start Recovery Center, which currently has 75 women on its waiting list. The United Way of Central Indiana Capital Fund will match each dollar that is donated.
The Fresh Start Recovery Center is a unique residential addiction treatment center in Indiana, because it allows the mothers receiving treatment to reside with their young children. Most programs do not allow for children.
The agenda will include a brief presentation from a past client of the Fresh Start Recovery Center and her doctor from IU Health. For the rest of the time, you will be able to mingle with other like-minded individuals and talk to some of our past clients in the program.
To top it all off, coffee will be provided by Tinker Coffee Co (5-Star average rating on Google, Facebook, and Yelp), and food will be provided by ClusterTruck (4.5-Star average rating on Google, Facebook, and Yelp).
