Offer Hope, Restore Dignity, & Transform Lives

Open House at Theodora House

Indianapolis, IN. (24 July 2015). On Monday August 3rd from 12-4 pm, Volunteers of America of Indiana will host an open house at Theodora House for a new program that will start August 17. This new program will be a 15 bed residential addictions treatment program for mothers who are involved with the Department of Child Services.

Individuals will be able to take a tour of the facility, ask any questions about the program, learn how to refer women involved with DCS to the program, and enjoy food and drinks.

In this program, DCS-involved women will receive high-quality, evidence-based treatment while living with their children. It will help these mothers recover while maintaining a crucial bond with their children. DCS-involved women without children presently in their care are also eligible for treatment. Every woman present will be treated in a client-centered manner with support in understanding and navigating their responsibilities in the DCS system. Trained staff are present 24/7 to maintain safety, manage difficult situations, and provide support to clients. They are all trained in Trauma-Informed Care, Gender Responsive Care, Motivational Interviewing, warning signs of abuse, and Crib Safety.

Please enter the event through the Pennsylvania Street Door. Theodora House is located at 927 N. Pennsylvania St. Please RSVP to Rachel Halleck at rhalleck@voain.org. Learn more about the program at http://www.voain.org/dcs.
