Stand Down Event

On September 18 from 10 am - 2 pm there will be a Stand Down event at the Richard D. Lugar Safe Haven located at 2424 Fairfield Ave. in Fort Wayne, Indiana. 

This event was created by the Fort Wayne Community to recognize veterans' services to the United States. It is a community effort to provide much needed relief to our service members, Veterans, and military families. 

The following services and more will be provided to service members, Veterans, and military families:

  • Food
  • Bus passes
  • Lifeline subsidized phone service (please bring proof of eligibility for phone)
  • VA and Social Security benefit counseling
  • Haircuts
  • Clothing and blankets
  • Health screenings
  • Personal hygiene kits
  • Spiritual and personal counseling
  • Resume writing assistance

These individuals may also receive referrals to a variety of other necessary services, such as:

  • Housing assistance
  • Employment counseling
  • Substance abuse treatment
